As a Direct Entry Captain on the Boeing 737NG, you will lead a high-performance crew in a safety-first, on-time operation. You will set the tone on the flight deck, deliver exceptional operational standards, and represent the Ryanair Group as we continue our industry-leading growth.

🧰 Minimum requirements

  • Total time: 3,500 hours
  • PIC on type: 500 hours (B737-300 to -900)
  • Multi-engine jet PIC: 800 hours
  • Multi-engine jet: 2,000 hours
  • Type rating: Required (B737)

📏 Flight time notes

  • Minimum of 2,000 hours on a multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft > 30,000 kg MTOW with an established airline, cargo operator, or military transport unit.
  • Minimum of 800 hours PIC for EASA licence holders on a multi-crew, multi-engine jet > 30,000 kg. No PIC hours on turboprop aircraft are considered.
  • For EASA licence holders: apply within 36 months of the most recent B737-300/900 “Valid Until” date in Section XII “Certificate of Revalidation”. The B737-300/900 rating must not have been expired for longer than 3 years at the intended OCC start date.
  • Candidates holding a valid B737 type rating who have not operated the aircraft within the last 36 months must complete a full Transition Type Rating course and will be considered non-type-rated candidates.

🕒 Currency

Must have operated as Commander on the B737-300 to -900 within the 36 months prior to the course start date.

🪪 Licensing & medical

  • Licence: ATPL (EASA)
  • Medical: Class 1
  • Language proficiency: ICAO ELP Level 4 minimum

🌍 Additional requirements

  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU.
  • Able to pass an enhanced background check and meet all other regulatory requirements.
  • Visa sponsorship: Not provided
