B737NG Cargo Line Pilots (Captains & First Officers) – Auckland & Christchurch, NZ

Texel Air is expanding its established Australasian operation after a decade of successful Middle East operations. We’re inviting expressions of interest from experienced, full-time B737NG pilots to be based in Auckland (AKL) and Christchurch (CHC), delivering safe, reliable cargo services across a dynamic network.

  • Location: Auckland (AKL) & Christchurch (CHC), New Zealand
  • Aircraft: Boeing 737NG (excluding MAX)
  • Operation: Cargo | Line operations with training support responsibilities
  • Employment: Full-time
  • License: New Zealand ATPL + Class One Medical, or Australian ATPL convertible via TTMRA

🧭 The Role

You’ll fly well-maintained B737NG aircraft in a schedule-driven cargo environment where safety, reliability, and professional line flying are paramount. In addition to line operations, you may:

  • Support new-hire pilots during initial line training.
  • Assist trainers during simulator sessions.
  • Act as a simulator support pilot when operationally required.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

  • Licensing & Medical: Current New Zealand ATPL and Class One Medical, or willingness to convert a current Australian ATPL via TTMRA before joining (proof required).
  • Type Rating: Current B737NG type rating (excluding MAX) with recent experience within the last 5 years.
  • Work Rights: Legal right to live and work in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Professional Skills: Strong communication, sound judgement, technical competence, initiative, and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Evidence: Logbook proof of experience is required; simulator time does not count toward minimums.

📏 Minimum Experience by Rank

  • Captain
    • 6,000 hours total time
    • 3,000 hours on MPA
    • Either 1,000 hours PIC on Texel Air types/variants, or 2,000 hours PIC on aircraft >50t MTOW
  • Senior First Officer
    • 3,000 hours total time
    • 2,000 hours on MPA
    • Either 1,000 hours on Texel Air types, or 1,000 hours on aircraft >50t MTOW
  • First Officer
    • 2,000 hours total time
    • 1,000 hours on MPA
    • 1,000 hours on aircraft >10t MTOW
  • Junior First Officer
    • 1,000 hours total time
    • Either 100 hours of air transport operations or 200 hours of flight instructional experience

Preference will be given to applicants who already hold a New Zealand ATPL and Class One Medical.
