Aviation Safety Manager & B737 Captain (PIC)

✈️ About the role

As Aviation Safety Manager, you will own the implementation, oversight and continuous improvement of our Safety Management System (SMS) while maintaining operational exposure as a B737 Pilot-in-Command. You will leverage current line experience to identify, assess and mitigate operational risks and translate data-driven insights into practical, front-line safety enhancements.

🧭 Key responsibilities

• Implement, oversee and continually enhance the organisation's Safety Management System (SMS).
• Use B737 operational experience to identify, assess and mitigate operational risks.
• Maintain operational exposure as a B737 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) to remain closely aligned with line operations.
• Lead Safety Risk Management processes, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Manage and investigate occurrences, incidents and safety reports; ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, monitor and report Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) aligned to organisational objectives.
• Leverage FDM/FOQA data to identify trends and drive targeted safety interventions.
• Plan and conduct safety audits, inspections and safety investigations in line with ICAO and State regulatory requirements.
• Prepare clear, evidence-based safety analyses, presentations and reports for leadership and regulators.

🧰 What you'll bring

• Valid ICAO ATPL or equivalent.
• Current B737 type rating.
• Current or recent B737 Pilot-in-Command/Captain experience.
• Significant professional experience in aviation safety and Safety Management Systems (SMS) within an airline or operator.
• Hands-on expertise in Safety Risk Management and hazard identification.
• Experience managing or investigating occurrences, incidents and safety reports.
• Demonstrated ability to develop or monitor Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs).
• Working knowledge of FDM/FOQA and use of operational data to identify safety trends.
• Experience conducting or participating in safety audits, inspections or safety investigations.
• Strong knowledge of ICAO and applicable Civil Aviation Authority safety requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication and report-writing skills.
