Airline Pilot Cadet – First Officer Pathway (Beirut)

🧭 Your Mission

Train to become a safety‑focused, team‑oriented First Officer with MEA’s Operations Division. Throughout your journey you will develop technical mastery, sound judgment, and the professional discipline expected of airline pilots operating in a multinational environment.

• Complete ground school in aerodynamics, meteorology, airframes, engines and systems, instruments, radio/electrical theory, navigation, flight ops, human factors, VFR/IFR communications, air law, mass & balance, flight planning, and aircraft performance.
• Undertake simulator sessions and aircraft flying on single- and multi‑engine types.
• Progress through MCC and Jet Orientation Course (JOC), then MEA aircraft type rating.
• Demonstrate safety awareness, problem‑solving, resilience under pressure, integrity, teamwork, and adaptability.

🧰 The Training Journey

Initial ab‑initio training is conducted under European civil aviation regulations at a contracted flying school (usually Flight Training Europe, Jerez), with full‑board accommodation provided during this phase.

• Duration: ~66 weeks (ground school, simulator, aircraft flying, JOC)
• Outcomes designed to lead to: EASA ATPL theory, CPL, Instrument Rating, Multi‑Engine rating, MCC & JOC
• Type Rating: ~8 weeks on MEA aircraft, followed by the Lebanese licence initial type‑rating route

Training timelines are estimates and subject to operational and regulatory considerations.

🌟 What You Bring

• Nationality: Lebanese (with recent clean judicial record)
• Age: Born between 20 October 1997 and 08 December 2007 (inclusive)
• Education: Lebanese Baccalaureate (or official equivalence) and either:
  • a university degree in any major, or
  • a valid CPL/IR/ME licence

  Final‑year university students graduating by 01 June 2026 may apply; training starts after the degree is awarded.

• Languages: Proficient in Arabic and English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Health & Fitness: Good overall health; physician approval on MEA medical screening form; weight appropriate to height; adequate BMI; non‑smoker (or commit to stop and provide proof)
• Height: Minimum 170 cm (males), 168 cm (females)
• Aptitudes: Mathematics, physics, mechanical comprehension/reasoning, spatial relations, computer skills, English proficiency, pilot aptitude, and personality suitability
• Re‑applications: You must not have applied more than once previously (one repeat allowed)

🧪 Selection Process

• Written exams in mathematics and physics
• General ability, mechanical reasoning, spatial relations, English, and personality testing
• Initial medical check
• FTE Jerez aptitude and psychometric assessments
• Panel interviews
• Comprehensive medical examination

Certified supporting documents are required (educational, civil, judicial, identity, university, medical, and others as requested).

💼 Benefits & Financials

• Accommodation: Full‑board during the ~66‑week initial training
• Travel & formalities: Arranged by MEA; estimated expenses included within total training‑phase cost
• Credit facility (if needed): Possible subject to written request, committee evaluation, and security; indicative loan ~US$115,000 supported by bank guarantee and/or real‑estate mortgage
• Repayment terms: Begin from first month of employment; ~5% annual interest; ~25% monthly‑salary deduction
• Type‑rating costs: Estimated ~US$100,000
• Insurance: Temporary life and personal‑accident insurance required at cadet’s own expense
• Employment commitment: 10‑year employment contract with MEA upon joining as First Officer
• Salary on start as First Officer: Approximately US$3,500/month

📜 Licensing & Compliance

• License route: Program designed to lead to EASA ATPL theory, CPL, IR, ME, MCC & JOC, followed by MEA type rating and Lebanese licence initial type‑rating route
• Alternative entry: Applicants may qualify with a CPL/IR/ME in lieu of a university degree
• All training conducted under European civil aviation regulations and MEA standards.
