🧭 Role Overview

The Commander (Pilot-in-Command) holds overall responsibility for the aircraft, passengers, and crew throughout every phase of flight. You will exercise sound judgment under varying operational conditions, lead a high-performing crew, and ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations and company procedures.

🧰 Key Responsibilities

  • Exercise command authority for the safe, compliant operation of each flight from preflight to shutdown.
  • Conduct thorough preflight preparation, including weather, NOTAMs, performance, weight and balance, fuel planning, and MEL/CDL status.
  • Make decisive go/no-go, dispatch, and in-flight diversion decisions in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the flight deck and cabin teams, promoting effective CRM, clear communication, and a just culture.
  • Ensure passenger welfare and a professional, customer-focused onboard experience.
  • Manage abnormal and emergency situations in strict accordance with checklists and training.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and reports, including safety and occurrence reports as required.
  • Champion SMS principles, fatigue risk management, and continuous improvement in operational standards.
  • Uphold ECCAA regulations and company operations manuals at all times.

🧾 Minimum Requirements

  • License: Valid ATPL (ICAO)
  • Medical: Class 1
  • Language: ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher
  • Experience: Minimum flight hours and command experience as stipulated by LIAT (2020) Limited and the authority
  • Type Rating: Not required; company training provided

  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft performance, applicable regulations, and emergency procedures.
