Airbus Widebody Captain – Etihad Airways (Abu Dhabi)

As Captain, you’ll hold ultimate responsibility for the safe, secure, efficient, and professional conduct of every flight. You’ll exercise full technical command of the aircraft, lead and mentor flight and cabin crew, and uphold Etihad’s operational excellence as we continue to grow our fleet and global network. The role offers clear pathways to leadership, training, fleet management, and broader Flight Operations responsibilities.

🧭 What You’ll Do

• Exercise full command from taxi-out to final engine shutdown, ensuring safety and security of passengers, crew, cargo, and aircraft at all times.
• Lead with strong decision-making and effective Crew Resource Management, fostering a high-performance team culture.
• Deliver reliable on-time performance and operational efficiency aligned with company standards.
• Operate with environmental responsibility in line with fuel efficiency and sustainability policies.
• Champion compliance with Etihad’s operational and safety standards and regulatory requirements.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

General eligibility (all applicants):

• Unrestricted ATPL (ICAO) and current unrestricted Class 1 Medical.
• Flown an eligible Airbus widebody FBW or Boeing widebody aircraft within the last 12 months.
• Current type rating on an eligible Airbus widebody FBW or Boeing widebody, valid for at least two months at time of joining.
• Written and spoken English at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
• Under the age of 59 on date of joining.

Experience pathway (meet either A or B):

• Criteria A: Minimum 7,000 total hours; 2,500 PIC hours on jet multi-crew new-generation or EFIS aircraft; including 2,000 hours on widebody aircraft above 140 tons; and 1,500 PIC hours on any Airbus widebody FBW or Boeing widebody.
• Criteria B: Minimum 7,000 total hours; 3,000 PIC hours on jet multi-crew new-generation or EFIS aircraft; including 2,500 hours on widebody aircraft above 140 tons.
