Airbus A220 Captain – Direct Entry (NTR Welcome)

Step into the captain’s seat on the A220 as a Direct Entry Captain. Join a modern flight deck, lead high-performing crews, and deliver a safe, efficient, guest-focused operation. Non-type-rated Captains are welcome—A220 type training is provided.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Serve as Pilot in Command of the Airbus A220, upholding the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and airmanship.
  • Lead and mentor flight and cabin crews using CRM and Threat & Error Management best practices.
  • Execute SOPs, checklists, and MEL/CDL procedures while coordinating with Dispatch, Maintenance, and ATC for on-time, fuel-efficient operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer care and represent the brand with professionalism and integrity.

🧰 Minimum qualifications

  • Total Time: 3,000 hours
  • PIC Time: 500 hours
  • Multi-Engine: 2,000 hours
  • Turbine: 2,000 hours
  • Aircraft Group: 2,000 hours total time in large, Group II transport category, fixed-wing turbojet aircraft (>41,000 lbs MTOW)
  • PIC in Group II: 500 hours PIC in large, Group II transport category aircraft (>41,000 lbs MTOW)
  • Recency: Actively flying two of the past five years

Note: PIC is defined as Captain or Aircraft Commander of record, not solely the manipulator of the controls.

📈 Currency requirement

  • Part 121 PIC: 500+ hours within the last three years

🎓 Licenses & medical

  • Pilot Certificate: ATP (FAA)
  • Medical: Class 1 (First Class)
  • FCC Permit: Valid Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit
  • Records: Maintain pilot training history in the PRD

🌟 Additional requirements

  • Travel: Ability to travel unrestricted to and from the United States; valid passport
  • Driver’s License: Have or be able to obtain a valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Language: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. as defined by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
  • Screening: Pass a DOT pre-employment drug test; TSA fingerprint-based criminal history records check; and Breeze background check
  • Health: COVID-19 vaccination required where permitted by applicable law
