Lead time-critical medevac missions that connect remote Northern communities to lifesaving care. As a SkyCare Captain based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, you will command the SW4 Metroliner in demanding multi-engine IFR operations across Ontario, with opportunities to support missions throughout North America and the Caribbean.
🧭 Your Mission
As Captain, you hold final authority for the safe and effective operation of the aircraft, crew, and mission. You’ll lead coordinated, high-impact air ambulance flights in dynamic, remote environments—making rapid, safety-first decisions when every minute matters.
- Exercise final authority over flight safety and operational decisions from dispatch to shutdown.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight planning and inspections; verify weight and balance, performance, and fuel requirements.
- Lead and brief the flight crew; coordinate closely with dispatch, ATC, ground, and medical teams.
- Manage all phases of IFR flight in multi-engine aircraft, adapting to weather, terrain, and time-critical mission changes.
- Respond effectively to in-flight events and emergencies in accordance with company SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Complete post-flight inspections, accurate documentation, and report maintenance needs.
🧰 What You’ll Bring
- Flight experience: Minimum 2,000 hours total time and 500 hours multi-engine PIC.
- Licences: Transport Canada CPL (fixed-wing) and Transport Canada ATPL.
- Ratings & medical: Multi-engine Instrument Rating and a valid Canadian Aviation Medical.
- Additional credentials: Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Licence and a valid driver’s licence.
- Travel eligibility: Ability to work in Canada and travel to the USA; valid Canadian passport (or equivalent eligibility).
- Background: Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector completed within the last 30 days.
- Communication & teamwork: Effective interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication with English-language proficiency.
- Mindset: Calm under pressure, decisive, safety-driven, and mission-focused in remote and rapidly changing environments.
Note: At least two years of relevant experience is required.

- Plan and brief each mission, ensuring regulatory and company compliance.
- Execute all phases of flight with precision, managing crew coordination and workload.
- Maintain timely, clear communications with dispatch, ATC, and ground/medical partners.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks; manage abnormal and emergency situations.
- Oversee accurate post-flight documentation and report any maintenance findings.
