5x Aviation is seeking an experienced pilot to lead aerial survey missions across Australia in a well-equipped Piper PA-31 Navajo. This casual/part-time role blends hands-on flying with specialist sensor operations in dynamic regional and remote environments, underpinned by a strong safety and professionalism culture.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Plan and conduct safe, efficient aerial survey flights in the PA-31, integrating specialist sensor systems and procedures.
  • Operate IFR and in remote/regional airspace, maintaining exemplary airmanship and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with survey technicians and operations for mission planning, data capture quality, and timely execution.
  • Manage performance, fuel, and terrain considerations for regional and remote strips; adapt to changing weather and tasking.
  • Complete flight documentation, aircraft care, and basic on-site troubleshooting to keep missions on track.

🧰 What you’ll bring

  • Current CPL(A) or ATPL(A).
  • Current Class 1 or 2 Aviation Medical Certificate.
  • Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.
  • Current Flight Review.
  • Minimum 750 hours total flight time.
  • Minimum 50 hours multi‑engine experience.
  • Minimum 25 hours on PA‑31.
  • Demonstrated proficiency operating IFR and in remote/regional environments.
  • Excellent communication, sound judgment, and decision‑making under pressure.
  • Willingness to work away from home for extended periods.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

Successful candidates must meet Australian aviation regulatory requirements and be ASIC‑eligible.
