Launch your airline career with a clear runway. SkyWest Airlines’ Pilot Pathway Program pairs aspiring commercial pilots from partner schools with SkyWest mentors, structured guidance, and a guaranteed interview upon reaching ATP or R-ATP minimums (subject to minimum hiring requirements).

  • Location: St. George, Utah, United States
  • Program type: Unpaid student pathway (mentorship; not a line-flying role)
  • Duration: Until ATP or R-ATP minimums are reached
  • Compensation: Unpaid (lodging provided if travel for company business is required)

✈️ About the Program

Designed as a career pipeline, the SkyWest Pilot Pathway Program supports student pilots enrolled at, or graduated from, SkyWest Elite or Standard Partner flight schools. You’ll gain mentorship from SkyWest pilots and tailored preparation for a future airline interview—without the pressure of line flying while you build hours.

  • Mentorship: One-on-one guidance from SkyWest pilots and crewmembers
  • Readiness: Interview preparation and enhanced introduction to SkyWest culture and operations
  • Opportunity: Guaranteed interview at SkyWest once ATP or R-ATP minimums are met and minimum hiring requirements are satisfied
  • Seniority: Enhanced company seniority for program members

🧭 What You’ll Do

  • Engage regularly with assigned SkyWest mentors throughout your training
  • Remain active in the program until you achieve ATP or R-ATP minimums
  • Update your logged flight hours monthly through SkyWest Online

🧰 What You’ll Bring

  • Education/Enrollment: Active or former student at a SkyWest Elite or Standard Partner school and actively working toward a commercial pilot career
  • Age: Minimum 18 years
  • Licenses (as applicable): Student; PPL; CPL (see partner eligibility below)
  • Driving: Valid driver’s license
  • Work Authorization: U.S. citizen or proof of right to work in the United States
  • Training Record: No more than two check ride failures
  • Reporting: Ability to update flight hours monthly via SkyWest Online
