Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is seeking skilled Line Pilots to operate various aircraft across Madagascar from our base in Antananarivo. This is hands-on general aviation in a uniquely challenging and rewarding environment—bush and mountain strips, variable weather, and occasional IFR—serving remote communities with safe, reliable air transport.

✈️ The mission

As a Line Pilot, you will fly various aircraft across Madagascar’s diverse terrain, including bush and mountain strips, connecting remote communities with essential services. You’ll operate under VFR and conduct IFR missions as required, upholding the highest standards of safety, airmanship, and service.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Operate various aircraft on assigned flights, including bush and mountain flying operations.
  • Conduct IFR operations as required.
  • Plan and manage aircraft performance, weight and balance, and loading to approved standards.
  • Apply Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles in single-pilot and multi-crew contexts.
  • Exercise sound pilot decision-making in diverse and challenging environments.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety and quality systems and procedures.

🧰 What you’ll bring

  • Minimum 500 hours total flight time (or 250 hours if from preferred training providers).
  • Valid CPL with IR and a current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 6.
  • Experience in small-aircraft single-pilot operations preferred.
  • Commercial or corporate aviation experience recommended.
  • Strong verbal and numerical reasoning aptitude.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft performance and loading; aerodynamics; aircraft systems; weather; and aircraft instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in CRM and pilot decision-making.
  • Proven commitment to safety and quality systems compliance.
  • Type rating not required — comprehensive training provided.
