✈️ About the role

As a Cathay Pacific First Officer, you’ll join a global team committed to operational excellence and safety. Successful candidates may be assigned to any fleet Cathay Pacific operates, with aircraft allocation determined by seniority. You will fly regional and long-haul routes, uphold the highest safety standards, and contribute to a collaborative cockpit culture.

  • Fleet assignment: Based on seniority
  • Potential fleets: Airbus A321neo, A330, A350; Boeing 777, 747
  • Training: Comprehensive induction and type conversion provided

🧭 Who we’re looking for

Professional, safety-focused pilots who thrive in multi-crew environments and are ready to progress within a seniority-driven, multi-fleet operation.

🧰 What you’ll bring

  • Licence: Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR), with the same-state ATPL examination credits obtained without exemption or conversion
  • CPL route: CPL holders must be eligible for Hong Kong ATPL on conversion
  • Acceptable authorities: ICAO-compliant licences welcomed (Frozen ATPL accepted)
  • Medical: Class 1
  • Language proficiency: ICAO English Level 4 or higher
  • Right to work: Visa sponsorship is not provided

🧾 Minimum flight experience

  • Total time: 1,500 hours minimum (3,000+ hours preferred)
  • Command time: Minimum 500 hours as P1, of which up to 250 hours may be P1 U/S
  • Multi-crew experience (meet one):
    • At least 500 hours on civil-registered transport aircraft certified for multi-crew operations with MTOW > 45,000 kg; or
    • At least 1,500 hours on civil aircraft certified for multi-crew operations with MTOW > 10,000 kg or certified/configured for > 19 passengers, including within the preceding 5 years either:
      • 500 hours (with at least 250 hours P1 and/or P1 U/S); or
      • 100 sectors

Note: Type rating not required — conversion training is provided on employment.
