✈️ The opportunity

We’re expanding our Embraer 195 and Airbus A320 operations across Scandinavia and are hiring Experienced First Officers on permanent contracts. Your previous flight experience is valued at SAS and forms a strong foundation for development into long‑haul operations or future leadership roles.   • ARN — Stockholm Arlanda
  • BGO — Bergen
  • CPH — Copenhagen
  • OSL — Oslo

Assignments depend on operational needs; base selection and course dates will be communicated during the hiring process.

🧰 What you’ll do

  • Operate the Embraer 195 or Airbus A320 family in accordance with SAS SOPs and EASA regulations.
  • Partner with the Captain to deliver safe, efficient, and customer‑focused operations across our Scandinavian and European network.
  • Execute thorough pre‑flight planning, performance calculations, fuel and weather assessments, and use of onboard systems.
  • Demonstrate strong CRM, decision‑making, and communication in a multi‑crew environment.
  • Support a positive safety culture, proactive reporting, and continuous improvement.

🌟 What you bring

Minimum requirements

  • Flight time: Minimum of 500 hours on CS‑25 aircraft.
  • Licences: EASA CPL(A) with IR, MCC, ME, and UPRT; or EASA ATPL(A); or EASA MPL.
  • Medical: EASA Class 1.
  • Language: ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 5 or higher.
  • Work eligibility: Unrestricted right to live and work in the EU.

Additional requirements

  • Non‑Scandinavian EASA licences are accepted but must be converted before course start.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Completion of SAS background check and personal security interview, plus drug and alcohol testing in your base city.

No type rating required: SAS will provide type training for the Embraer 195 or A320 family.

  • Type rating training provided (E195 or A320), followed by supervised line flying.

  • Ongoing recurrent training, safety refreshers, and career development pathways within SAS.

🛡️ Security & compliance

As a requirement for employment at SAS, all candidates must successfully complete a background check and personal security interview, and pass drug and alcohol testing. The security interview and testing will be conducted in the city where you will be based.
