Emirates is inviting ambitious Emirati nationals to join a fully sponsored National Cadet Pilot Programme at the Emirates Flight Training Academy in Dubai. Starting from zero flying hours, you will progress through ground school, flight and simulator training, type rating, and line training — culminating in your promotion to First Officer on Emirates widebody aircraft.
🧭 Programme Pathway
Train with state-of-the-art technology and experienced instructors, advancing through four structured phases:
- Ground School (≈ 12 months): Intensive academic training at Emirates Flight Training Academy, leveraging advanced tools and virtual reality.
- Flight & Simulator Training (≈ 12 months): Around 274 hours of flight and simulator experience, progressing toward a Commercial Pilot Licence with Frozen ATPL, Multi-Instrument Rating, MCC, and Jet Orientation Course certificates.
- Type Rating (≈ 3 months): Conversion and aircraft type-rating at Emirates Training College.
- Line Training (≈ 8 months): Operate on Emirates widebody aircraft to complete UAE GCAA line-training requirements for a Frozen Air Transport Pilot Licence.
On successful completion, you will progress as a First Officer, flying across Emirates’ global network.
🧰 What You’ll Do
- Complete the four-phase National Cadet Pilot Programme from ab-initio to line operations.
- Master aviation theory and systems during ground school using advanced learning platforms.
- Accumulate significant flight and simulator hours under expert supervision.
- Undertake aircraft conversion and type-rating training.
- Operate Emirates widebody aircraft during supervised line training to meet UAE GCAA standards.
🎯 Who Can Apply
- Nationality: Emirati nationals only.
- Documents: Valid UAE passport and Khulasat Al Qaid required.
- National Service: Must be completed before joining (where applicable).
- Age & Education (High School Route):
- Age: 18–21 years.
- Minimum final score: 80%.
- Scientific stream background.
- Final-year studies include Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Age & Education (Degree / Diploma Route):
- Age: 22–26 years.
- Minimum GPA 3.0 in a scientific or engineering major (diploma and higher qualifications included).
- English Proficiency (at application):
- IELTS 6.0 overall (minimum 5.5 in each element), or
- TOEFL PBT 510 / IBT 65.
- Medical & Physical: Medically fit with BMI ≤ 29; minimum height 160 cm.
🧪 Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will complete a rigorous, multi-stage assessment:
- Mathematics and physics assessments.
- Medical pre-screening at the Emirates clinic.
- Compass test and mental mathematics.
- Aviation English evaluation.
- Psychometric testing (abstract and spatial reasoning).
- Panel interview.
- UAE GCAA medical examination.

🌟 What You’ll Receive
- Fully Sponsored Programme (≥ 4 years): All training costs, materials, accommodation, uniforms, and three daily meals covered.
- On-Campus Support: Meals and accommodation provided during ground school and flight training at Emirates Flight Training Academy, in addition to salary.

📜 Qualifications You’ll Earn
- Commercial Pilot Licence with Frozen ATPL.
- Multi-Instrument Rating (MIR).
- Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Jet Orientation Course (JOC).
- UAE GCAA-approved Frozen Air Transport Pilot Licence (upon completion of line training).
