Boeing 737 Captains (PIC) – Type-Rated or Transition Pathway

Air India Group is inviting accomplished Captains to command the Boeing 737 at Air India Express. Join via a streamlined pathway whether you are already B737 type-rated or a seasoned P1 Captain ready for a transition. Immediate joiners are preferred and the place of posting is flexible within India.
🧭 Your Mission
Lead safe, efficient operations as Pilot-in-Command on the Boeing 737. You’ll bring disciplined airmanship and decision-making to every sector, with suitability assessed via a simulator flight proficiency test as part of the selection process.
🧰 Two Routes to the Left Seat
Apply through one of the following pathways:
- Type-Rated B737 Captain (P1)
- Valid B737 PIC endorsement
- Minimum 100 hours PIC on B737-family aircraft
- Maximum age: 62 years
- Non-Type-Rated Captain – Transition Pathway (P1)
Qualify via either experience set:
- Jet route: 3,000+ total hours; 1,000+ airline hours on jet aircraft; 500+ PIC hours on aircraft with AUW > 5,700 kg
- Turboprop route: 3,000+ total hours; 1,500+ airline hours on turboprop aircraft; 500+ PIC hours on aircraft with AUW > 10,000 kg
- Maximum age: 60 years
🌟 General Eligibility
- Indian national or OCI card holder
- Valid Indian ATPL with current/valid Instrument Rating and Pilot’s Proficiency Check
- Valid FRTOL and COP/RTR
- Valid Class I medical fitness assessment certificate
- ICAO Aviation English Level 4 or higher endorsed on the Indian ATPL
- Incident- and accident-free record
- Provide breath-analyser information and details of any DGCA enforcement action
- Mandatory eGCA ID with all licences and documents validated
🧪 Selection Process
- Psychometric assessment
- Personal interview
- Simulator flight proficiency test
- Pre-employment medical examination
