Join Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) and fly purposefully in one of the world’s most diverse and remote flying environments. Based in Port Moresby, you’ll operate the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan Amphibian to connect isolated communities across Papua New Guinea with vital services.
✈️ The opportunity
MAF is seeking an experienced seaplane pilot to support commercial general aviation operations from Port Moresby into remote and challenging airstrips and waterways. You’ll be part of an experienced crew, flying meaningful missions that demand sound judgement, precise airmanship, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Operate the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan Amphibian on commercial flights throughout Papua New Guinea.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, safety checks, and performance planning.
- Perform seaplane operations including water takeoffs/landings and dock/shore handling in remote areas.
- Manage aircraft performance and loading calculations to CPL standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Operate under IFR as required, maintaining proficiency and procedural discipline.
🧰 What you’ll bring
- Minimum 1,000 hours total flight time, including at least 100 hours turbine PIC.
- Valid CPL with float rating and a current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- ICAO English Level 6.
- Proven experience operating small aircraft to CPL standard, ideally in PNG or similar remote areas.
- Demonstrated proficiency in aircraft performance, weight and balance, and loading control.
- Solid knowledge of aerodynamics, aircraft systems, weather, and instrumentation.
- Strong grasp of CRM and pilot decision-making in demanding environments.
- Familiarity with safety and quality systems; sound verbal and numerical reasoning.
- Resilience and readiness to live and work in remote locations.
