Air Astana Group is inviting experienced captains to join our Almaty flight crew. If you’re an accomplished commander with an ICAO ATPL and strong leadership in the cockpit, this is your opportunity to fly with a flagship carrier in the heart of Central Asia.
🧭 The opportunity
As a Non‑Type‑Rated Captain based in Almaty, you will lead safe and efficient operations, set the standard for professional airmanship, and mentor flight deck colleagues. You’ll bring proven command judgement, crisp CRM, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and service excellence.
🧰 Minimum qualifications
- License: Current and valid ICAO ATPL
- Total time: Minimum 4,500 flight hours
- Command time: Minimum 1,200 hours as Commander
- Medical: Class 1 Medical
- English proficiency: ICAO Level 4 or higher
- Age limit: Maximum 55 years
- Recency: Flown the relevant type within the last 12 months and hold a current LPC
Flexibility: Applicants who do not meet the stated 6‑month recency requirement may still be considered in light of overall experience and professional background.

- Exercise captaincy with uncompromising focus on flight safety, operational discipline, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead all phases of flight: planning, briefing, execution, and post‑flight review.
- Apply robust CRM, mentor flight deck colleagues, and foster a collaborative cockpit culture.
- Uphold company SOPs, manage abnormal and emergency procedures, and ensure high‑quality decision‑making.
- Represent the airline professionally with passengers, crew, and operational stakeholders.
