Loganair is welcoming experienced Captains to take the left seat across our UK bases and fleets. You will hold ultimate responsibility for the safety, security, and operation of the aircraft, leading your crew and safeguarding our customers from preflight to shutdown.
✈️ The Role
As Captain, you are accountable for safe, compliant, and efficient operations from the moment you arrive at the aircraft until engines shut down after landing. You’ll set the tone for professionalism on the flight deck and cabin, exemplifying outstanding airmanship and leadership.
🧭 Key Duties
- Oversee all aspects of aircraft operation throughout each sector, ensuring regulatory and company compliance.
- Make sound, timely decisions during normal and non-normal operations.
- Lead and support the flight crew, setting a professional, safety-first standard onboard.
- Apply and adapt procedures appropriately to maintain safety and operational integrity.
- Champion clear communication, CRM best practice, and a strong safety culture.
🧰 Essential Skills & Experience
- Full ATPL (UK CAA) with a current Class 1 Medical.
- Current or recent experience on a multi-crew aircraft with MTOW > 10t or 19+ passenger seats.
- Strong knowledge of aviation regulations, safety practices, and flight operations.
- Calm under pressure with proven, timely decision-making.
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership capability.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
🌟 Desirable & Type-Specific Criteria
- Desirable: Valid ERJ 145 or ATR 42/72 type rating.
- Embraer (ERJ) applications – Essential: Minimum 500 hours operated as Pilot-in-Command on a jet, multi-crew aircraft with MTOW > 10t or more than 19 seats in passenger Commercial Air Transport operations.
- ATR applications – Desirable: Minimum 500 hours operated as Pilot-in-Command on a turboprop, multi-crew aircraft with MTOW > 10t or more than 19 seats in passenger Commercial Air Transport operations.
